I have been a practicing general commercial litigation attorney in Chicago, Illinois since 1988. My areas of concentration include construction and employment litigation. I began my legal career as an associate at general practice firms including McCracken, Walsh & DeLavan and O’Brien O’Rourke & Hogan. Taking the skills I learned and believing in myself as an experienced litigator, I began a solo-practice in 1997 that has thrived ever since. Through my professional skill and personal determination I have carved a niche for myself in the very competitive Chicago legal community.
I am a native Chicagoan graduating in the top 10 percent of the 1981 class at Niles West High School in Skokie. In 1985, I graduated Cum Laude with a bachelors of arts degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, once again in the top 10 percent of my class. While studying at Indiana University, I was appointed to the honorary fraternities of Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Beta Kappa. In 1984, during my spring semester of college, I received an academic scholarship to study abroad in Madrid, Spain through New York University. I maintain my Spanish language skills and I am conversant in written and spoken Spanish.
I received a treasurer’s scholarship to attend DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, where I successfully completed my juris doctorate and was admitted to practice in 1988.
I am presently a member of the Chicago Bar Association, and the Federal Trial Bar. I am admitted to practice in the Northern, Central & Southern District Courts for the State of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
I aspire to achieve balance in my professional and personal life and have many outside interests and accomplishments. I currently reside in Wilmette, Illinois with my husband and our three children. In addition to focusing on my family when I am not practicing law, I am an avid exercise aficionado. I taught aerobics classes for over fifteen years and presently maintain a strict exercise regiment that includes one to three hours of exercise each day. In addition to physical fitness, I enjoy fund raising for schools and charitable organizations, gourmet cooking/catering personal events, gardening and creative craft work.
In March of 1998 I was featured in the Lerner Publications newspaper article “Women in Business.” In this article I express my commitment to providing individualized service on a smaller scale. Republication and linking capabilities are not possible at this time but copies of the article are available at my office upon request.
